A Paper Lover’s Heaven!

March 6, 2009

If you are considering making your own Wedding Stationary, anything from place cards and stickers to the actual wedding invitation ensemble, Paper Source is a wonderful resource!  I attended their Wedding Workshop just for fun last night and had a blast!

They had closed down a section of the store and created kits using different papers and styles for us to be able to create all of the different “paper” elements used in a wedding while teaching us the techniques and tools to make the production fast and easy.  In short, they teach you how to make them like the pros!  If you live near a Paper Source, I definitely recommend you attend a workshop.  Your talents will multiply!

Now what is it that I really love about that store? I am a paper fanatic. I love colored paper. I like to be able to embellish and create original things using paper.  I’ve even build up my very own little workshop in my office filled with stamps, embossers, stickers and paper for my “creative days”. Most of what I have is from Paper Source. It is definitely a calorie free candy store! My most favorite item is the coin sized envelope. These little beauties are the perfect size for a business card or place card.

If you don’t have a location near you, I would suggest visiting their website where you can watch video demonstrations and download templates to make your life a whole lot easier.  You can order a swatch sample book of their paper to help you choose the correct color and shade for you wedding.  Go ahead and get creative! It is truly easier than you think!

Tantalizing Hors D’oeuvres

September 15, 2008

If you are like me, you are totally amazed by the food you eat at events.  I see those silver trays spinning around the room and peek to see what is on each one.  It seems like I snatch up those tasty treats made with puff pastry.  They look fabulous.  They taste fabulous.

I recently found a resource I want to share with you on how you can make the some of the same amazing food as those talented caterers out there and dazzle your dinner party guests.

Pepperidge Farm, one of the makers of frozen puff pastry dough has some marvelous recipes on their website.  Check it out!  They have over 100 recipes to choose from.  Many of them can be made ahead to make entertaining look effortless.

Here is another tip.  When choosing Hors D’oeuvres, make sure you select a collection that includes both warm and cold appetizers with at least one vegetarian choice.

Enjoy!
