Photo Booths – A Guest Book Alternative

July 24, 2008

Who says you can’t have fun in a suit??? So yes, we all looked very serious at a recent ABC meeting until we stepped into a photo booth (this one was from Red Carpet Photo Booth).  Who could resist?

Don’t like the idea of a traditional Guest Book?  Why not have a photo booth come to your wedding instead!

Most photo booths come with a book and an attendant.  The attendant will assist your guests by putting their images into the book properly and then your guests have the opportunity to caption their photos and write you a message.  Here is a fun feature you can upgrade to…get a CD of all of the images and look at everyone goofing off! Oh yes, you can see your friends and family make their silly faces and have your own laughs!

Just where do I start???

July 9, 2008

This is one of the most common questions I’m asked from brides and one easily answered.

My advice, aside from choosing the size, time of year and location for your wedding is to start an idea file.  Whether it is a file folder, a binder or a box, start pulling pictures and articles together of things that you like.  Here are some ideas to jump start your idea file:

  • Design: Colors, themes, lighting effects, floral design, tabletop layouts, textures
  • Elements: Attire, stationary, accessories, favors, food, music

The categories could go on and on.

My reasoning behind the idea file is to streamline your planning.  With so many options available these days, couples are overwhelmed by all of the information and tend to not have a specific plan in mind when they begin meeting with Wedding Professionals.  You can save yourself hours of meeting time by having a blueprint of ideas on what you want prior to meeting with people for your wedding.

That’s Magicale!

July 2, 2008

Well, for one thing it is magical to get this blog off the ground…YAY!! And I have so much to post I’ll have to rewind a few months to catch you all up to speed.

In May, Disneyland Resort’s fabulous Fairytale Wedding Team welcomed me and 25 other fabulous Orange County Wedding Planners to their Magical World for a wine pairing luncheon.  Just so you know, their restaurant “The Napa Rose” has Southern California’s largest crew of Sommeliers.

Now just what is a Sommelier?  They are wine experts that specialize in all aspects of wine service.  If you ever want to have the perfect meal paired with the perfect wine, a Sommelier can make just the right recommendation for the most flavorful experience.

Master Sommelier, Michael Jordan, who is 1 of just 87 Master Sommeliers in North America, educated us on how to properly pair wines with food.  His enthusiasm for wines made this one of the more interesting wine pairings I have ever been to.  We were the lucky group of people that got to experience the North American Premiere of “Magicale”, and Italian Brachetto imported from Piemonte, Northern Italy.  De-licious!  This was our sweet sparkling dessert wine paired with our personal-sized chocolate fondue.

My tastebuds were in heaven! It truly was a Magicale experience!!
